Every woman dreams of walking up to her man looking beautiful in her dream wedding attire that shows off her tiny waistline and slim FabFit body. However, there is a lot of hard work and planning that goes into making this dream come true and achieving the desired weight-loss. For some, to get that perfect body, going on a diet is a must. Hence we bring to you some diets that would ensure results that a would-be bride dreams of.
There are several popular diets that made their mark in the health scene, but what is the best diet for a bride-to-be? To get an overview, here are some of the more popular weight-loss diets in existence:
Weight-loss Diet #1: Ketogenic Diet
The standard ketogenic diet advocates a diet which is low in carbohydrates to force the body to burn fats and produce “ketones” to be used as energy. Usually, the diet consists of 75% fats, 20% protein, and 5% carbohydrates. In two weeks, weight loss becomes evident, although there are negative side effects such as fatigue, weakness, light-headedness, headaches, and mild irritability during the transition period of one to two weeks as the body adapts to the diet. Keep in mind, however, that prolonged adherence to this diet may lead to kidney stone formation.
Weight-loss Diet #2: Atkins Diet
It is similar to the ketogenic diet in that carbohydrates are limited to 20 grams per day and calories are derived from fat and protein. Meanwhile, around 12-15 grams of carbohydrates come from vegetables. Milk and sugars, except sucralose, are not allowed. The diet operates on the principle that without enough carbohydrates, the body will burn fats instead. The first phase, known as the induction phase, will accelerate weight loss and metabolism. The side effects are similar to the ketogenic diet.
Weight-loss Diet #3: South Beach Diet
This plan is based on eating healthy carbohydrates, protein, and fats. There is a list of foods to avoid which will increase your cravings for sweets and starches. Fruits are not even allowed during phase 1 as they contain lots of sugar (fructose). For many, the abdominal fat is reduced during phase 1. There’s also a list of foods that are allowed or not allowed to be eaten during the different phases. During phase 1, you can expect side impact similar to the ketogenic diet.
Weight-loss Diet #4: Paleo Diet
This eating plan is based on human diets during the Paleolithic era and consists of fruits, vegetable, nuts, seeds, lean meats from grass-fed or wild game, and fish rich in Omega-3 fats. Grains, legumes, dairy products, refined sugars, salt, potatoes and processed food are avoided as it is believed that the human body has not adapted to modern diets. It also advocates drinking plenty of water and performing physical activity. Portion control must be practiced even for the allowed foods. The weight loss effect is not as drastic as that of the ketogenic diet, but there are no side effects included.
A bride on her wedding day does not only want to look slim and fabulous but radiant and healthy as well. It is important to balance the need for losing weight with the need to feel and look good physically and emotionally during the wedding. It is up to the bride to choose the best diet suited to her needs.
Since most diets call for fewer carbohydrates, Indian women will not find it hard to follow since the majority of them are into vegetarianism. Moreover, Indian cuisine, characterized by the use of fat-burning and anti-oxidizing spices, is one of the healthiest.
